Hollywood Nights – The Bob Seger Experience is the ultimate tribute to Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band. This 9-piece New Jersey-based powerhouse has set out to re-create everything about Bob and his music right down to the smallest detail.

Pirouette your way to becoming dancing royalty! Arabesque through the sea like Ariel, jump around the market place like Jasmine, tap along the Bayou like Tiana, and twirl at the ball like Cinderella. Each day highlights a different princess and her fairytale with dances, crafts, and activities centered around her story.

A day full of fun and excitement! You will love the broad range of art that goes on here in a week…sculpture, drawing, paint, watercolors, collage, and more. Fast paced, educational and mostly, lots of fun! You will have a gallery worth of art after this experience.

Each camper will discover why floral design is significant to them, getting in touch with the sense of joy that the process can bring. Campers will learn from Anna Lohr, as she nurtures their knowledge of principles of design, how to identify types of flowers, and color theory! Floral arrangements will start small, and grow larger throughout the week as campers build their skill and confidence.

AIKIDO is a traditional Japanese martial art that focuses on movement, balance, and teamwork!

Are you ready, kids? Dive into the undersea town of Bikini Bottom with SpongeBob and his quirky circle of friends and neighbors.

Pam Nixson, a professional photographer and owner of October Sky Photography, will walk campers through basic camera skills, how to handle and properly use a camera, a brief intro to history of photography, and even an Introduction to the fundamentals of Portraiture, Landscape, and Macro photography! Campers will learn how to take better photos using the elements of design. This camp will be a BLAST with photo scavenger hunts, DIY backdrop creation, and more! Your young photographer will travel outside of the STAR Centre and into the Havre de Grace community to capture gorgeous shots that you will treasure forever. This week-long camp culminates in a presentation for the parents that will display the amazing work and creativity of each young photographer!

The story and emotional content of a musical are not only communicated through words, music, and technical aspects, but through movement and dance. Broadway Jazz introduces students to theatrical style dance reminiscent of Tony Award winning choreographers through the years that include Michael Kidd (Guys & Dolls), Jerome Robbins ( West Side Story ), Bob Fosse ( Chicago ), Jerry Mitchell (Hairspray), Susan Stroman (The Producers) and Andy Blankenbuehler (In the Heights), to name a few.

Does your child love the movie Toy Story?! Or outer space?! This camp is the perfect way to spend their summer. Campers will create galaxy slime, discovery bottles, and other space art projects. We will watch the Toy Story movie, engage in outdoor play with an “Astronaut Training” themed obstacle course, read super cool space books, and more! Our campers will be over the moon at the end of the week!

STAR Summer Camps are thrilled to bring another area premiere to the Opera House stage with Anastasia: The Musical. With music and lyrics by Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty, and a book by Terrence McNally and based on the 1997 animated film of the same name, the musical adapts the legend of Grand Duchess Anastasia Nikolaevna of Russia, who could have escaped the execution of her family.

They've read the books; they've seen the movies.... now it's time for them to leave the world of muggles behind and enter their very own wizarding world! Upon arrival, the sorting hat will assign campers to houses and they will receive their robes. The week will be filled with wand-making, brewing potions (science experiments), Quidditch matches, scavenger hunts, activities using logic, lots of Harry Potter trivia, and much much more. They will receive lessons in astronomy, the proper care of magical creatures, using their imagination for good in the world, being a thoughtful friend, and getting along with others through group games inspired by the books.

The Jersey Tenors are the newest Opera/Rock Mash-up sensation, creating an explosive blend of iconic Opera classics alongside Rock ‘N Roll greats like Queen, Elton John, and Bon Jovi – to name but a few. Always Jersey Proud — they do not forget where they came from, so they highlight some of Jersey’s finest like Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons, Frank Sinatra, Bruce Springsteen, Kool and The Gang, and even Jersey Girl Whitney Houston!

Join us as we travel through the evolution of Disney songs beginning with the classics and journeying through shows like Tangled, Frozen, Princess & the Frog, Encanto, Toy Story and Moana. Campers will learn the basics of reading sheet music and vocal technique. Whether your camper wants to sing solo, duet with a friend, or prefers to only sing in a group, there's something for everyone! Camp will conclude with a showcase for parents, friends, and family on the last day.

Campers can code the VEX 123 robot using touch to control movements and sounds. They learn sequences, logic and problem solving. Campers progress to using coding Cards and the VEX Coder to control the 123 robot. They learn real programming away from tablets and computers. Campers will use VEXcode with Drag & Drop blocks to code the 123 robot.

Get up into the air while learning the fundamentals of aerial arts on silks while building strength and flexibility. Instruction will include performing basic movements and tricks, how to gain body awareness while airborne and use of the apparatus.

Campers will take well know fairy tales; rewrite and perform them in a fun and creative way. Each day students will transform a different fairy tale. The last day we will perform our favorite creation!

Survivor camp places a group of strangers (campers) in an isolated location (the STAR Centre of Havre de Grace), where they compete to survive. Campers will split into "tribes" (teams identified by their super cool Survivor Bandanas), and compete for rewards and immunity from point elimination. Instead of campers being “voted off," score will be kept throughout the week. After each challenge they will have Tribal Council where each tribe votes for another tribe to lose 10 points. They cannot vote for the tribe that won the previous challenge (immunity). The tribe that gets the most votes loses 10 points.

Learn the art of cinematic storytelling by shooting and editing your very own horror film. This exciting week-long camp combines hands-on training using professional cameras, sound, and editing equipment. Campers will learn the art of scriptwriting, special effects, cinematography, horror make-up, sound, lighting, and editing. This experience will teach them how to operate a camera using manual functions, after effects, and post-production sound techniques. Camp will end with a screening of an original horror film created by the campers.

Does your child LOVE pink?! This is the perfect camp for them. This camp is based on the best selling book “Pinkalicious” by Elizabeth Kann and Victoria Kann, featuring the whimsical and effervescent character, Pinkalicious! This week-long camp is the perfect way for your child to be creative and have fun this summer! Campers will decorate pink cupcakes, read the book “Pinkalicious”, take a fun beginner level ballet class, make beautiful pink crafts to take home and more!
